A Table for Becky

One of my blogging buddies crossed over this past week. Becky Turner's blog is Random Musings of a Deco Lady. She fought a difficult battle with MDS (myelodysplacia) all the time with a positve attitude. She shared her battle, family events, recipes and tablescapes.  She always took the time to explain the history of the theme of the tablescape or recipe.

She is one of two people that I know of that have battled MDS.  My BFF's husband crossed over in March of this year.  I guess that is why I am taking Ms. Becky's passing with a very heavy heart.

She was my first follower on my blog. She encouraged me to continue and to join a message board of HLC collectors. Her favorite dishes were Harlequin in blue. My dishes are Fiesta by the same maker. This is my tribute to Ms. Becky.

Art Deco was a favorite of Becky's. This hostess bowl has that art deco feel.

I am linking with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

Fiesta in Periwinkle and Cobalt
Goblets: Sango gift from my aunt
Glasses: Tuesday Morning
Place mats: Jonathan Adler from Dillards
Napkins: Walmart
Napkin Rings: Kohls
Silver: Community (belonged to my mom's aunt)

  1. Becky touched so many lives and her passing saddens many. What a great tribute to a wonderful lady. Thank you for the tribute. Becky was a friend to so many!

The table is lovely and I know Becky would have loved it!

  2. lovely, Monica... Becky loved those hostess bowls (despite the fact that HLC never did make one in black, like she wanted...!) and I know she'd love your table!

  3. Your blues for Becky are beautiful, Monica. I hope you will consider linking your tablescape to Tabletop Time as we come together to celebrate our friend.

  4. I'm glad you joined the linky, Monica!

  5. Oh, geez...I had no idea she had passed on. I am saddened yet joyful to have known her through our blogging experiences. It is so incredibly sweet of you to post this loving tribute in Becky's name. I think this is the first time I have visited your blog, Monica, and I think God just brought me here so that I, too, could celebrate the life of such a giving and strong woman. I wish you a peaceful weekend.

  6. Gorgeous Monica! What a fabulous tribute for our Becky!
